Parents stories 2

My son has been at Breckenbrough school right through his secondary education (up till 16). Being socially vulnerable, he would have been ‘eaten alive’ in mainstream secondary school. But at Breckenbrough, he has been sheltered, respected and encouraged so much that we can now contemplate sending him to a local sixth form college, where he is expected to do well with his A levels. Then who knows? University and a professional career to follow . . .

“…at Breckenbrough, he has been sheltered, respected and encouraged…”

The school’s outdoor educational pursuits are, I’m sure, second to none – I don’t think my son has had a boring moment at the school in all his years there. And the food . . . . just visit and get a taste of the home made fare on offer at the buffet-style lunches/dinners!

I have found the staff to be extremely dedicated and obviously, with the school roll being so small, they have an in-depth knowledge of each boy.

As for the school building itself: quaint comes to mind (school plays in the fireplace of the ‘great hall’, which is actually almost of cosy, domestic proportions for such a large, ornate, Victorian structure!) Great-sized bedrooms and plenty of space for outdoor play.
