Parents stories 6

Our son did not fit into the big school when he was eleven. He lost his self-esteem and couldn’t get himself organised. Teachers tried detentions, putting him on report and excluding him. The school, or at least one enlightened teacher, then tried to support him arranging a restricted curriculum and more care, but eventually all this failed and he started to run away from school and eventually refused to go altogether.

“it is wonderful to find that he now wants to be at school”

So he had no education at all for the best part of twelve months and became very difficult at home. Then we found Breckenbrough! After a struggle with the local education authority he started at the school in January 2005. The change in him has been remarkable. His self-esteem has improved and he attends all his classes. Whilst he still has a way to go, it is wonderful to find that he now wants to be at school and has a good group of friends. Thank-you Breck!
