Flat Unit

The accommodation for the senior boys in school is known as the Flat. Interestingly, this is because it used to be the Headteacher’s flat in the 1950′s and 60′s.

The unit has a lounge with Sky TV, a DVD player and surround sound.

Most of the boys on the Unit enjoy a room of their own, and are allowed to personalise these however they like (within reason!). Most rooms have TV’s, stereos brought in by the pupils and some have their own games consoles. That’s not to say that the boys aren’t encouraged to do other things. In fact, the school offers various and diverse social activities. The senior boys are offered more opportunities to go out than the younger pupils as long as they appreciate these opportunities. Senior trips may include going to the cinema, bowling, swimming or sporting events.

Being a senior has other privileges as befits young men of their age, such as being allowed to forego the wearing of a uniform and a later bedtime. Seniors do not have to go to bed until 10.15.

Whilst on the Unit and indeed around the school as a whole, it is very much expected that the senior lads set a good example to the younger pupils.
