Middle floor is for Year 9 and 10 pupils. All of the rooms are singles. There is a sitting room with Sky T.V. There is also a smaller sitting room for playing on a Play Station 2.
On Middle Floor they are expected to take more responsibility for your own health and hygiene. They are expected to make their own bed and to tidy their own room without being asked, as well as getting showered and doing their teeth. This forms part of their social development programme and boys are set targets to help them. As they grow into young adults the staff help them to become more independent with various aspects of their life.
The Unit is staffed by Linda Stead and Bryn Wilson, Linda has at worked at Breckenbrough for many years. There are many activities available from the unit staff, as well as other staff in school. These include ‘Magic Card’ tournaments, swimming, motorbikes, football and a variety of other physical and mentally stimulating activities.
