Gill was a Senior Scientific Officer with MAFF (now DEFRA). She worked in Veterinary Laboratories, latterly at their Central Laboratories in Weybridge. Now retired, she lives in Northallerton.
She was co-opted to the Board in 2008 and subsequently has become a Trustee, appointed by Quakers in Yorkshire. She currently has no specific Committee role but is our Governor with responsibility for Health and safety. She is also working with a colleague to provide fuller information on the range of skills and experience Governors possess (and how they may contribute to our work) and alongside that developing a programme of induction for all newcomers to the Board.
She is also on the separate After-Care Committee, and serves as clerk for their meetings, and she is now to become the chair of this committee. She likes growing her own vegetables and spending time with her many grandchildren. Her main interests at Breckenbrough are how the Quaker influences affect the school and the more practical support workings of the school as she does not have a teaching background.
