Mike spent 30 happy years lecturing in Drama at Bretton Hall College, near Wakefield. His six children are at various stages of growing up. He lives in Honley near Holmfirth (and says “Last of the Summer Wine” helps you know where that is).
At Breckenbrough he is a Trustee and member of the Education & Care Committee and the After Care Committee. In addition though, he works as a member of the Board’s Nominations Group, anticipating and seeking to fill gaps in staffing of Committees and Board. He is therefore one of the two Governors who nominate the Chair and Deputy for each year.
Mike likes to be thorough and to reflect on his work. He’s interested in trying to understand just how our students see our special mixture of social and academic education plus care and what the total effect is of their time with us. This may explain why he is on those two particular Committees.
He supports Huddersfield Town. He tries to avoid jargon, even if it takes a bit longer to do so.
